Geneva made it!

The General Assembly of the World Blind Union (WBU) will take place in Geneva Switzerland, for the first time in history! Together with its partners, the Swiss Federation of the Blind and Visually Impaired is preparing to host around 1000 guests during 10 days in August 2008 in Geneva.

Already in 2004, the Swiss Federation of the Blind and Visually Impaired applied to organize the 7th General Assembly of the WBU. But finally, after being the last city in competition with Thailand, the executive Board of the WBU selected Geneva. In collaboration with its different partners, the Swiss Federation of the Blind and Visually Impaired does its best to make the venue in Geneva a great success.

The venue will take place at the end of August 2008 at the International Conference Center (CICG) in Geneva. Around 1000 participants are expected. Apart from the official program of the General Assembly, there will be a cultural program for the participants as well as an exhibition of assistive technology.
