The SFB's Electronic Kiosk offers blind and visually impaired persons access to 22 newspapers and 20 magazines in German, French or Italian.
In contrast to the majority of newspapers available on the Internet, readers in the Electronic Kiosk (EK) are able to read the entire editorial content. The uncluttered user interface is easy to navigate and totally barrier-free as well. The newspaper can also be quickly downloaded to a PC and DAISY or MP3 player where it can be read at the user's convenience.
In 2007, the EK received a special mention from the Federal Office of Communications (BAKOM) during the presentation of the "Knight of Communication" awards. In 1998, it was also awarded the "White Cane" from the Swiss National Association of and for the Blind.
The content offered by the EK is being constantly expanded. We are happy to advise publishers wishing to make their products accessible to blind and visually impaired people.
The annual subscription is CHF 60.00.
