Surroundings
The beautiful spa and holiday resort Bad Liebenzell is located in the Black
Forest. Those who are fond of walking can enjoy 175 km of footpaths. The
thermal springs are a particularly health-promoting and approved treatment
recommended for rheumatism and metabolistic and circulatory diseases and
exhaustions. The city of Pforzheim and its many places of interest is situated
18 km north of Bad Liebenzell. St. Michael is an absolute must for all tourists
and visitors. The oldest parts of this charming Chateau and Convent Church
dating back to the year 1225 are Romanesque in style. Yet the church has
some late Gothic elements which were built around 1460. But also the new
town hall with the large market place in front of it has its own charm which
visitors should not miss.

The centre was built in the 60s and has a total of 52 self-contained rooms
(32 single and 20 twin-bedded rooms with shower and WC). 35 rooms have
a balcony. Each room is equipped with a telephone. Guests can use the
centre's terrace and the large gardens. The ground floor houses rehabilitation
and conference facilities.
Special service : If required guests can order a car to take them in to the
city centre free of charge.

Bad Meinberg lies in the heart of the Lipperland surrounded by forests whose
wonderful footpaths are ideal for extensive walking tours. Neighbouring towns
like Bad Salzuflen, Lemgo or Detmold offer many places of interests
worth seeing.
The Centre
The centre was opened 30 years ago and has been one of the most popular
recreational homes among blind and partially sighted guests ever since. All
of
the centre's 35 single and 25 double rooms, many of which have a balcony,
are equipped with a shower/toilet. Guest are welcome to bring their guide
dogs for the blind. Among the centre's facilities is a balneotherapy department
where a number of medical treatments and massages are available. The hotel
offers a variety of additional services such as help for car rides and walking
tours and a separate playground for children.

Surroundings
Boltenhagen is the second oldest seaside resort in West Pommerania. The
beach in Mecklenburg Bay stretching for 4 km together with the wholesome
mild climate constitute perfect requirements for recreation which holiday
makers are sure to find here. The beautiful countryside in "Klützer Winkel"
invites guests to take extended walks along the designed footpaths.
In addition, a wide range of holiday activities are offered, such as surfing,
sailing, canoeing, and coach rides.
The Houses
The two houses "Seeschlößchen" and "Waldfrieden" lie very close to
the
beach. 5 single and 31 double rooms, all equipped with radio sets, are
available to guests. Among the centre's facilities are a club room and a TV
lounge. Guests can also make full use of a TV reader as well as a braille and
enlarged print reading service. Other services offered by the centre are a
solarium, a hairdresser's and beautician's shop, pedicure and a fitness room.
Also, a number of medical applications are available if required. Guide dogs
are most welcome. Special resource people help to meet guests' individual
wishes. The centre offers a variety of organised activities such as
entertainments in the afternoons and tours with the centre's minibus to explore
the neighbourhood.

Surroundings
Georgenthal is located in the Gotha district on the northern declivity of the
Thuringia Forest. The holiday home lies amidst a quiet and well-wooded area.
The salubrious effect of the climate and 90 km of footpaths make the area a
place just ideal for recreation. Neighbouring places of interest, such as the
Wartburg near to Eisenach, the Inselsberg and the area around Oberhof,
are popular destinations of excursions.
The House
All rooms have direct dialling, radio recorder, and some of them have
shower/toilet, balcony and TV. A cosy club room and dining room, its good
local cuisine, moderate prices and friendly staff are further bonuses. For
excursions the centre-owned minibus can be used. Because of its attractive
location and the superb winter sports area in its immediate vicinity,

Surroundings
With its green rolling land, its many barrages and attractive destinations,
the
Sauerland is a recreation area which is much in demand. On its numerous
footpaths you can experience pure nature and restore body and soul.
Seeing the various places of interest of the area, a visit to the magnificent
stalactite caverns, touring the beautiful countryside in a covered waggon or
just cruising Lake Bigge in pleasure boat are just a few of the many activities
one can enjoy.
The House
The house was designed and built specially for blind and partially sighted
guests. It has 24 double rooms and 31 single rooms. All rooms are equipped
with shower/toilet and telephone, most of them have a balcony. Family can
book a family apartment. Among the communal facilities guests can make full
use of is a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, skittle-alley, cafeteria with
bar, library, and ham studio. "Haus Valbert" is surrounded by a 35,000 square
metres park-like area. Guide dogs are welcome.

Surroundings
Surrounded by forests on the northern declivity of the "Westerwald" lies the
little town of Mündersbach. 20 km of laid-out footpaths and good orientation
directions provided along all along the way within the immediate vicinity are
just ideal for use by visually impaired guests. One sight specially worth
seeing is the neighbouring medieval town of Hachenburg. But also excursions
to the "Deutsche Eck" (where the river Mosel falls into the Rhine), the
Westwald Lakes or trips to the Siegerland will make your stay eventful.
The House
"Haus Mündersbach" has 8 single rooms, 11 double rooms and 3 apartments.
All rooms are equipped with shower and WC, most of them have a balcony.
The centre has a lounge with a stereo set, club room, TV and reading room
with TV reader as well as a ham studio. Guide dogs are welcome.

The hotel is located in the Harz mountains close to the picturesque town of

The hotel for the blind is set beautifully amidst an approximately 7,000 square
metres park-like area with a swimming pool. Guests can take a walk along the
river Mulde. Special places of interest are castles, manor houses, churches
and town halls of the neighbouring towns. Among these is the Basilika
Wechselburg which is considered as Germany's best preserved church of
Romanesque style.

Surroundings
The rehabilitation centre for the blind is situated in the district of Garmisch
Partenkirchen, between the cities of Bad Kohgrub and Oberammergau.
The centres lies surrounded by a large park, amidst mountain greens, set
in by the Ammer mountains at a height of 900 m above sea level. Here,
around the "Zugspitze", Germany's highest mountain, blind and partially
sighted guests of the hotel can find rest, relaxation and recreation.
The House
The hotel has a total of 46 single rooms, 16 double and 2 three-bedded
rooms. Most rooms have shower/toilet and a balcony. Among the communal
facilities which guests can fully use are a TV room, a library with reading
device, recorder, typewriters, lounges and meeting rooms, ham station,
skittle alley and a playground for the young ones. Guests who want to keep
in good shape can use the heated indoor swimming pool and work out in a
gym where they will find all fitness kit. The hotel also has a balneotherapy
department which offers various medical treatments.

The little town of Timmendorfer Strand is located directly on the Baltic Sea.
The climate and extended walks offer guests a good opportunity of finding
pure relaxation. However, the climate of the Baltic Sea never fails to achieve
its relaxing effect even in winter.
During the peak season (15 May to 15 September) guests can use the
beach section which is only 200 m away from the hotel, including
beach chairs, free of charge.
The House
All rooms of this modern hotel have shower, WC and direct dialling. Most
rooms are equipped with a balcony. There are TV and stereo sets in all
three lounges. Ham amateurs are welcome to make full use of the radio
installation equipped with an all-mains-set and short-wave antenna.
However, ham amateurs should bring their transmitters. Further equipment
fully available to guests are a reading device and a cassette recorder.

Wernigerode is a town located in the Harz mountains, in the State of Saxon-
Anhalt. Surrounded by the forests and mountains of the Harz National Park,
the small town offers to those who are fond of hiking a variety of destinations
for tours all the year round. The recreational centre for the blind is located
on
the fringe of Wernigerode, only 5 minutes away from the town centre. It lies
on a hill, very close to the edge of a forest. The house is surrounded by a
park-like garden area and has a terrace which guests can use for taking
a sunbath.
